Higher Education Event Production
Commencements, convocations, speaker series, homecoming and galas — audio, lighting, video, staging and streaming, built around the academic calendar.
A campus runs the hardest event calendar in live production. Commencement is a ten-thousand-seat outdoor show with no second take. Welcome week is fifteen events in six days. The distinguished speaker arrives with twenty minutes to sound check, and facilities needs the quad back by Monday.
California Creative Studios produces campus events end to end — audio, lighting, video and LED, staging, stage design, streaming and crew from one accountable team. We plan around academic calendars and access windows, and we bring the load calcs, insurance certificates and RFP paperwork before your procurement office has to chase them.
From a lecture hall to a stadium ceremony, the same senior crew scales to fit — across California campuses and on the road for national programs.

What we bring
The whole production, in-house.
Why CCS
Commencement doesn't get a second take.
Ceremonies get exactly one take
Commencement doesn't rehearse twice and doesn't run late. We build redundancy into audio, playback and power because there is no version of the day where we get to try again.
We work inside your procurement
Campus events run on RFPs, insurance certs, purchase orders and a facilities office with opinions. We've been through it and we bring the paperwork before you have to ask.
Outdoor is the default, not the exception
Fields, quads and stadiums mean generator power, weather calls, cable paths across turf and a rain plan written before load-in.
Good partners for student crews
Where students work the show, our leads run it as a teaching room — real positions, real responsibility, a professional standing behind them.
How it runs
From advance to strike.
Advance
Site walk, power and rigging survey, run of show and a budget that survives your approval chain.
Design
Coverage plots, screen sizing, staging and load calcs documented for facilities and risk management.
Build
Load-in around class schedules and campus access windows, then a full rehearsal with your team.
Show
Run the ceremony, stream it, strike overnight and hand the space back clean.

FAQ
Campus production, answered.
What does higher education event production involve?
It's the technical production behind campus events — audio, lighting, video and LED, staging, streaming and show-calling for commencements, convocations, speaker series, homecoming, athletics events and fundraising galas — delivered around academic calendars, campus access rules and university procurement.
Do you produce outdoor commencement ceremonies?
Yes, and they're some of our favorite work. Outdoor ceremonies mean generator power, long cable runs, weather contingency and speech intelligibility across a field — all of which we plan at the design stage rather than discover on load-in day.
Can you work with university procurement and facilities?
Yes. We're used to RFPs, purchase orders, certificates of insurance, load calcs for risk management and coordinating access windows with facilities. We bring the documentation up front so approvals aren't the thing holding up your event.
Do you stream and caption campus events?
Yes. Redundant encoding, captions and clean archival recordings are part of the standard build, so remote families and an accessible on-demand archive are both covered.
Can our students work alongside your crew?
Gladly. On campuses with student production programs we run positions as a teaching environment — students take real roles with an experienced lead responsible for the show.
Which campuses do you serve?
We're based in Los Angeles and work with universities and colleges across California — the LA basin, the Bay Area, San Diego, Sacramento and the Central Valley — and travel for national programs.
